Cancer

Cancer kills like a bullet

only slower so the let down is a quiet know

Like a fawn running into deep white snow

Out of breath, breathing hard and running

Knowing where it needs to go

Like a leaf blowing far away

and you

What will I do when I see you are not here?

Like blinding sunlight closes every eye

Prevent an understanding of too much

like a beaten lonely pallbearer

carrying my love for you

to golden sunsets, shooting stars

and angels disappear

like you now disappear

like you disappear

you’re going to disappear

from me
