September

All the mornings I saw you cry

tears like diamonds

trying to say something

Trying to say something

wet my hard hands

you made them tender

blending our teardrops

September, September

We were once magic

I saw you smile

we laughed awhile

trying to say something

Trying to say something

kiss me, now

at this closing surrender

we’ll blend our memories

September, September

I love to dream

as days get shorter

less time to think of us

September, September
