In Love With A One Night Stand

Lady lonely as the sun goes down

slowly pacing “M” Street – Georgetown

Tonight she’s tired of just foolin’ around

gotta get down – deep

deep

In love with a boy in a band

she wants to fall in love with a one-night stand

She’s in love

(feels real this time)

same as last week

(with a different man)

lonely, she says “hold me”

“hold me tigther, if you can”

(this time it feels so right)

she brands him with the warmth of lips and hand

tonight she’s back in love with another man

lonely, she’s in love with a one-night stand

Her girlfriend said “won’t you just stay home?”

she’s too stolen by this need

walking down “M” Street

passing all the guys

(they can see it in her eyes)

feel her heart bleed

time for one more drink

then she can leave

lonely, down, though now feeling grand

she’s ready to fall in love with a one-night stand

she’s gonna fall in love with a one-night stand
